•• GENERAL.
• ONE.
H&S is a literate board and therefore, as a member of it you will be expected to use correct grammar and spelling. There are many word processors that you can either buy or find floating around on the web in order to check both spelling and grammar, so don't use excuses!
• TWO.
H&S is rated "T" for teen at this point in time. However, this does not mean that mature content is not allowed on the boards. If you wish to roleplay something of a sexual nature or something containing detailed horror scenes or such, please mark the title of the thread with a warning ( M, MATURE, etc. ).
• THREE.
Spamming, trashing, and hate-wars will not be tolerated at all on these boards. Do not register just to tell us that you think the site sucks, and do not take over the cbox with short posts that have no significance whatsoever. Priviledges such as the cbox can be taken away as easily as they have been given, so don't ruin it for yourself or other members.


•• CHARACTERS.
• ONE.
When joining H&S, you may register with whatever you wish. However, once you have registered and before you post your application, edit your display name to read: firstname middlename lastname in all lowercase. Your display name should remain as such no matter what so the staff of H&S as well as other members can identify you.
• TWO.
Each member is expected to finish a profile for each character he or she makes, including administrators and other staff. You are not permitted to post anywhere other than the face claim and secrets list until your application has been accepted by an administrator. Be patient, it should not take long for a staff member to accept you. And if your application has been marked as 'pending,' please do not take offense. An administrator will walk you through what is to be done in order to fix your profile so it can be accepted.
• THREE.
Mary Sues and Gary Stus will not, I reapeat, NOTNOTNOT be accepted on this site ever. That's it. Kaput. Take your perfection elsewhere. No character, person, or family is absolutely perfect; and in the same breath, neither is any character, person, or family completely wracked with pain, suffering, or bad luck. Mary Sues and/or Gary Stus do not pertain only to perfection, but also to perfection in regard to having a ( frankly ) shitty life. If I find one on this board I will waste no time in stoning you until you have gotten rid of it, period.
• FOUR.
Never think that you are not allowed to have more than one character on H&S. By all means, you can have twenty-four characters on here if your heart so desires. But ( yes, there is an exception, two to be exact ) you MUST keep all of your characters active. As well, broaden your horizons and help the male-female ratio by not making twenty girls and one boy. Even things out; if you have three girl characters and wish to make another, make your next a guy.


•• POSTING.
• ONE.
All in-character posts should be in past tense, third person. This means that there should be no I/me/we descriptions unless in speech or thought. Please post a nice length as well. I'm not going to sit here and ask for five paragraphs per post, because I know that's hard to do at times, but for goodness sake, no one-liners! Post at least two paragraphs, please, and good-sized ones too.
• TWO.
Double posting should not happen. Seriously. There's an edit button for a reason, use it. It isn't going to bite, I swear. I tamed it a looooooong time ago.
• THREE.
Births and deaths happen in real life, we all know this. However, it's also true that fifteen students do not die at hogwarts each year and neither are there three more babies each month. No. That would stink up the dorms. Ahahaa I crack myself up ... -cough- ... anyway. Unless your character is the holder of a secret that deals with birth, please don't go all spazz-Mary-Sue-attack on me and suddenly make your character pregnant. Death may deal with the main plot on H&S but everything pertaining to that should be discussed with an admin before anything happens. Thanks.
• FOUR.
If you god-mod or power-play another character and it hasn't been 'okay'd by them, I will squish you with my fat iceburg of a kitty. Get it? Got it? Good. Power playing and god-modding means to control another character's actions. For example, you cannot say that every single one of your character's punches landed in some other dude's face, but you can say you threw the punch; on the other side of the same coin, you can't say that your character dodged every single punch, because that would just be ( guess it !! ) Mary Sue/Gary Stu - ish. And we aaaaaaaaaaaaaalll know how Katie feels about those..
• FIVE.
Speech and thought should be indicated clearly in your posts. Speech should be at least surrounded in "quotations" and thought in 'single quotations' or italics. This one's pretty much a given, but I just want to make sure everyone can tell what's going on in your posts, yes?
• SIX.
When posting, pleasepleaseplease take into account the status and/or experience of the character you are roleplaying against--especially when dealing with battles or something of the like. No students should be able to thwart a teacher with some off-the-wall spell unless it has been 'okay'd by an administrator. Seriously, it gets kind of annoying after a while.


•• C-BOX.
• ONE.
Okay, first of all, I would like to point out that--above all else--the cbox is a priviledge. Priviledges can be taken away, and IP addresses can be banned from the cbox. If things get too out of hand with it, the cbox can also be taken away. Don't ruin it for everyone else, please?
• TWO.
Double posting is allowed in the cbox so long as your posts are not spam. Spam in the cbox includes double, triple, or more posts with things that could have easily been put together in one post. ( ie: "hey" "why is no one on" "people should get" "on" "now" "hello?" "get on" "!!!" ). At the same time, there is a word limit on cbox posts, and I understand fully if you must continue your message into more than one post. Just don't rack up the poor box's memory.
• THREE.
Bashing and other such rude-ness is not, and will never, be allowed in the cbox. If you have a problem with a member or an administrator or the picture of a cat in the thread about the dog, don't ridicule the cbox about it. Be nice if you must say something, but other than that ... just don't.
• FOUR.
H&S's cbox does not contain a form for an e-mail or url for a reason. Advertising is strictly forbidden in the cbox. Unless someone asks for a link, don't give it. However, if you're like me and happen to randomly slap links to hilarious youtube videos or something of the like on the cbox, then--by all means--go for it. Just don't jump on there and be all "HAI GUYZ JOIN MAH SITE, FTW!? [url here]." Thanks!
